Year 2012: I am grateful for...

my husband - for his understanding why I am not as domesticated as other women are, for letting me enjoy my 'me' time and being a good partner in our adventures as a couple and as parents

my little boy - for his love, his patience with his sister and his enthusiasm to be with his 'mama'.

my little girl - for her cheekiness, her patience with her brother and her enthusiasm to be a future 'gymnast'

a baby on the way - another blessing... we will soon be a party of five (1st trimester symptoms kicked in like never before, good thing it's our 'planned' last)

our yaya - for her patience with us, her love for the kids.  She has been with us for 4 years now and I hope that she stays until I can handle domesticated lifestyle.

travel - in Manila alone for a quick weekender, tiring but super yummy and worth it; in Phuket with my husband for the weekend, navigating the streets and considered as our 2nd honeymoon; in Australia for one week, making me realize I am not a 'winter' person and would probably hibernate during this season... did appreciate how 'advanced' Singapore is.

family - for their help and advise (though sometimes 'unsolicited').

friends - most of my friends went to land down under to permanently live there.  Take time to bond with them and nurture a good relationship.

job - I like what I do but my leads have different work ethics (my mantra: work smart not hard)

God Almighty - so many blessings have come our way and I truly appreciate them.  There may be bumps but these will let us grow and make us strong.  With his guidance, I am sure we can tackle them.

Looking forward to Year 2013!

designer bag

Last month, my husband gave me my first high-end designer bag,
Welcome Galleria PM:

I could have asked a friend to buy in Europe but I want the retail experience and that, my friends, cost me around 300sgd hahaha.
Not bad if I consider a plane fare to Europe. Excuses! Excuses!

It took a month before I was able to use it and I love it. (Well, I should since it is so @$"*^%# expensive). I love the smell and the feel of the leather. I love the opening that I can easily get small items from the bag without removing it from my shoulder. And I use it everyday (for work for the last few days). I have always believed that the increased number of use would offset the price. It should be resilient to the wear-and-tear of everyday use. And to achieve my a dollar a day mantra, I need to use this bag for... 6 years!!!

And now, I am eyeing this bag:

The Tod's D bag. But I would need to sleep on this. Reflect on myour current and future expenses. And considering my mantra, I can only use this on Y2018. Hahaha. I need to change my mantra, hhmmnn a dollar per hour?!?

Wishing that I could win a lottery and live the life of a celebrity.

manila pamper: are we there yet?

One of my must-do when I am in Manila is to get a pedicure. Though I usually choose a classic red nail polish (OPI's red hot gift), I opt to get this orange one for a change.

Wondering though that there is a limit of OPI in Manila. Salons use Orly or Essie. Are these much better than my beloved OPI? Hhmmnn...

manila loot: shoes & bag

Here are my loot from my 3D2N stint in Manila last weekend:
Anthology's San Francisco (in midnight blue). And it's a big yay!

Though I wish I was not in a hurry this morning when I wore it for the first time. My feet hurts now but I hope this break-in period would not last long.
My 2nd buy is a paez shoes from Planet Sports. Sad since they have limited styles and limited sizes. I ended up buying this green one.

In Singapore, a pair costs 60sgd, roughly 2K php. But there's variety. I like the feel, much better than Toms however the back of my feet always slips from the shoes. If I do decide to buy one more paez, I'd buy it in Singapore.
The only bag I was able to buy is a Parisian bag (I was supposed to buy a Fino matte red leather bag, a speedy look-alike but there was no new stock, sad).

It is a hobo bag and it can hold a lot of stuff. Funny smell though since it is made of abaca-like material. How can I get rid of the smell?

More birthday people on March 01

How do you celebrate your birthday if you were born on the 29th of February? Feb 28? March 01?

If I am one of those people, I would celebrate it on the 1st of March. This means that March 01 has 1.25 more birthdays than any other day (or is it 2x more)?

Just a silly post. Just want to have a post for a date that only comes every 4 years. Cheers!

Musings: Time, Energy and Money

When you’re young, you’ve got all the time and all the energy to enjoy life, but no money.

When you’re in your middle years, you’ve got all the money and all the energy, but no time.

And when you’re retired, you’ve got all the money and all the time, but no energy.

So true... in my case.

Blessings 2011

(Should have been posted at the start of this year)

We greeted 2011 with joy, a healthy baby girl. Her developments have been outstanding: babbling, standing (from seating position, even bending), and walking. Though we worry for her hair but hopefully it would grow, uhm more strands. She would get excited when she sees us and she would shout with such force when things don't go her way - our little baby tiger girl.

More attention has been given to our son during this year but it has resulted in favourable outcome. It has been one of the situation that has defined our parenting, one of the situations that has given us meaning to parenthood. I thank Him for blessing us with this child (of course with my youngest as well). Such a playful and loving child, full of curiosity and wisdom - our little toddler rat boy.

My husband who expands vertically with his love and patience, thank you. Though there has been issues external to us that have tested our marriage, you have remained sound and forgiving. Oh this is the year as well wherein we got good and sound financial advise and acted on it. It is a contented feeling that we are covered that whatever happened to any of us (God forbid), our children are protected and shielded. Wishing us a nice investment returns as well in order for us to retire at 45 (wishful thinking, hahaha).

To our family and friends, thank you and we always pray safety and good health, for all of us.

Happy New Year and may year 2012 (yipee, Year of the Dragon - my year and my hubby as well) bring us more blessings.

Cheers!
